Which Way Does the Wynn Blow TodayIf you’ve been following the recent headlines in the world of online gambling, you may have whiplash from the seemingly contradictory stories emerging about casino mogul Steve Wynn’s approach to online and mobile real money gambling.

Following our latest report that Wynn has effectively joined the crusade against online gambling by joining force’s with the industry’s biggest opponent Sheldon Adelson, news emerged Tuesday that the Wynn brand may not remain fully removed from the online gambling arena.

New Jersey gambling regulators have approved Wynn to offer an Internet gambling site in the state where he once ruled the roost. But a Wynn spokesman said plans by Wynn Interactive to offer online gambling in New Jersey are on hold as it studies the fledgling market.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Steve W. and his team are now “studying” the market that the casino titan vehemently opposed in his most recent interview, as corroborated by the remarks of one Sheldon Adelson.

“I don’t want to make money off of it; Steve Wynn doesn’t want to make money off of it,” Adelson said.

In one regard, however, Wynn’s messaging has been consistent.

“As Mr. Wynn said this weekend, online gaming does not appear to be a good entrepreneurial opportunity,” company spokesman Michael Weaver tells The Associated Press. “Consequently, our plans are on hold until we understand the business opportunity.”
