Here are some of the top stories in mobile and online gaming that we’ve been monitoring in recent days.

The focus on poker in online gambling in Nevada is not expected to change, admit sources close to the Nevada Gaming Commission. The commission, however, is discussing – at this hour – several changes to the state’s Internet gaming regulations. The talks are taking place at the commission’s regular monthly meeting in Las Vegas.

Last week, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort became the latest casinos to secure an Internet gambling license in the state of New Jersey. Following that development, Trump Plaza announced today that it is partnering with British company Betfair to make the most of its gamble on Internet gambling.

A top executive with the American Gaming Association has announced her departure from the organization. Judy Patterson, the senior vice president and executive director of the AGA, says she will remain as a consultant in the coming year for the organization she helped to found.

Joining such Atlantic City Boardwalk heavyweights in Atlantic City as the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, the Golden Nugget Atlantic City, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, it was announced Monday that the Tropicana has been awarded the 5th Internet gambling permit in the state of New Jersey. Online gambling in New Jersey is scheduled to begin this Saturday, November 26th.

According to the findings of a new report produced by Academicon and PokerScout, the New Jersey online poker market – which hasn’t even opened for business yet – could be worth between $39 million and $65 million in its first year of operation. By the second year, it could be worth $55 million, expanding to $92 million by year ten.
