Mobile and Online Gambling Where's the PayoffThink the biggest payoff for online gambling’s arrival belongs to the casino operators?

Think again.

Internet gambling has raked in more than $50 million so far for lawyers, lobbyists, and other professionals since mid-2009, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

According to The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the spending reports cover professional services like “legal, consulting, lobbying, auditing, accounting, recruitment, and referral services provided with regard to Internet gaming.”

Although it isn’t clear how much the mobile and online gambling business has generated for advertising and marketing firms, the all-encompassing element of “consulting” has purportedly encompassed a substantial amount of marketing consultation across the three states where online gambling is legal.

As mGamingWatch reported earlier today, the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement reported Tuesday that the licensed online gambling sites in the state of New Jersey raked in $8.4 million in revenue during the first six weeks of authorized public game play. One casino in particular, however – Borgata – claimed a staggering $3,750,174 of that total.
