Online Gambling in Delaware So Far So GoodSo far, so good. That’s the message we’re hearing loud and clear from Delaware this week.

Online gambling is officially open for business, a reality we all expected following Delaware’s decision to follow Nevada into the potentially lucrative legal online gambling arena.

The soft launch on October 31st went according to plan. And, as a result, Internet casino games ranging from slot machines to blackjack are now able to be played online in Delaware.

But because of Delaware’s small population size, there’s talk of Nevada and possibly even New Jersey teaming up with Delaware to expand their respective markets.

Delaware’s Lottery Director Vernon Kirk is certainly open to the possibility.

“We have had conversations with both states, and it’s a little bit too early in the process to project how that is going to work out,” Kirk said recently. “My guess is that, certainly with Nevada, they are definitely anxious to compact with us, and us to them likewise. Once we get up and running we will be pursuing that more aggressively. Right now we are just concentrating on getting our site up. But that will be one of the very first steps we take after launch.”
